Matters of Prayer

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2

Praise:
Thank You Lord for the instruction to set our minds on You and not on earthly things, may we fix our gaze on You.

Prayer:
Let us continue to pray for Maurine's children and extended family in the wake of her going home to be with Jesus, that they too would come to know Him through the witness and testimony she left them.

Please continue to pray for Paul Wolkersdorfer SR. as his battle with bone cancer goes from the diagnosis stage to the treatment stage. Cancer treatment is a ravaging thing for the body to endure, and he's going to need strength from the Lord to see him through this period.

Robert McDowell, will be teaching here on the following Sundays: Jan . 10Th & Jan. 17th. Let's pray that the Lord would give him a special word for Calvary Chapel Newport through his teaching the Scriptures. Also, Jeff Potts will be leading the worship on those Sundays as well, so lift him up in prayer too, that the Lord would use him and speak through him.

Matters of Prayer

Thank You Lord for the constraining and compelling nature of Your love within us.

Prayer:
The bone cancer in Paul Wolkersdorfer SR. was confirmed this last week and a plan for treatment is now being made. Pray for a miracle of healing according to the will of God and His grace to abound int this difficult time.

Keep in your prayer the Biblical World View series that will be starting soon, that that the Lord would use it to bring clarity and understanding in contrast of what the Bible says and our current world view topics & issues.

Let's be mindful in prayer about how the Lord has blessed us and have a heart FULL of thanksgiving during this Thanksgiving Day season.

Keep in your prayer those in our community who can be a blessing to those who will come to church during the Holiday season's of thanksgiving and Christmas. Pray for the Lord to use us to His witness and messengers of the Good News of Jesus Christ and eternal life in Him.

Lord Help us to focus on You....

Lord help me to put my trust in You and rely on You when things get hard, help me not to loose focus and live like a heathen. Lord I thank You for Your Word You have given me thanks be to You. Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

Thank You Lord for the knowledge you have given in everything we need for life and godliness.

Paul Wolkersdorfer SR. had surgery on his arm this last week and is doing well. They did however find and remove a tumor that they sent in for biopsy.

Prayer:
Please pray for Linda Crutch as she feels overwhelmed with recent events, seeing the needs to take steps ahead and grow in her faith & trust in God.

Be in prayer for the Biblical World View series [Sounds like this will be very good can't wait!] that will be starting "soon." It will be a great time for new folks to get answers & guidance as well as for seasoned believers to revisit issues in light of Scripture, all to develop and refine our Biblical World View.

Please continue to pray for Paul Wolkerdorfer SR as he finds out the results to do some tests relating to the diagnosis and treatment of bone cancer.

Pray about our involvement in blessing a family (s) for Thanksgiving Day.

Prayer:
Please continue to pray for Paul Wolkersdorfer SR. They are running more tests for confirmation, but believe that he has bone cancer, which is resulting in braking so many bones over the past few years.

Let's remember in prayer those soldiers who were killed or wounded (and there families) at the Army base in Texas. Pray also for the shooter and his extended family that they would come to the Truth and Salvation in Jesus.

Material had been ordered for a Biblical World View study, for either a Sunday evening or a mid-week time, so pray for wisdom and guidance. We are in the planning stages right now.

Continue to pray for Maurine as she is advanced in her illness and ready to go Home to be with Jesus.

Continue to pray about other outreach opportunities with the youth as well as others, that the Lord would guide and confirm His will in these matters.

Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. Romans 5:18

Last Sunday evening went with great fellowship and compelling teaching through our live stream web cast.
Just a side note: there was no real fellowship at the church it was just watching the web cast that's all, no talking and fellowshiping none whatsoever none. I don't know why Paul said, "We had great fellowship." Makes no sense to me. Just thought I would let you know that I dissaggree with Paul on that sorry I didn't really see any fellowship; so I just thought I would let you know because Paul is not really telling the truth here sad coming from a pastor; I don't understand why he would say this just can't grasp this.

Prayer
Paul Wolkersdorfer Sr. Broke his arm in 3 places and will be having surgey on Thursday. Just a side note: that surgery already took place cause today is Friday, I don't know how surgery went I will find out this Sunday.

Niki is finishing up inpatient treatment for eating disorders and will be spending the weekend with her parents. Niki and her husband Jon will be then moving to silverdale where Jon was accepted an employment transfer offer. May God giver her stability and firm rootedness as they make yet another move. (nineth move third state in 16 months) A side note: Once again how can you get rooted in a church if you keep moving just don't understand what Paul was trying to say once again. This is not good grammar for Paul, he needs to make more sense than what he just said here this hard to grasp let alone even to try and figure out, come on Paul make some sense here make it plain and easy to understand.

Please pray as the planning begins to live stream the Prophecy Update event on New Year's Eve. It will be very informative time and will be a great opportunity for folks to invite friends, neighbors and relatives, and will also be available for the local community and other church brothers & sisters.

Continue to pray for the family of Billy (Sheri's cousin) as he passed away from H1N1 flue last week.

LORD, YOUR WORD SAYS how I can keep my way pure: by living according to Your Word. I will seek You with all my heart; help me not stray from the commands. Help me to hide Your Word in my heart that might not sin against You. (Psalm 119:9-11)

Please make me a person You can take into Your confidence.

Lord please help me cleanse my home of any kind of materials that support of fuel wickedness. Make this the kind of home You can full bless.

LORD GOD, teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in Your commands. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey Your Word. You are good, and You do is good; teach me your decrees.(Psalm 119:66-68)

HOLY GOD, turn my eyes away for worthless things; preserve my life according to Your Word. Take away the disgrace I dread, for Your laws are good. (Psalm 119:37-39)

LORD, I willingly admit that I am weak in my natural self. I used to offer the parts of my body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickdedness. I Now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. (Romans 6:19)

Thank You Lord for working these things into our lives as we follow & trust in You.

Prayer:
Continue to pray about opportunities to reach out to the community with the love of Jesus. Clearances are being processed so pray for God to guide & direct.

Let's continue also to pray for Kyle's mother Roxanne as she deals with death of Kyle and the long history of substance [that is drugs] in the household. They desperately need Jesus in their lives.

We will be live streaming the web cast of Walid Shoebat, speaking at Calvary Chapel in Spokane this evening. Keep the evening in prayer this afternoon that the Lord will bless this time and that our connection and our equipment would operate properly.

Matters of Prayer

"And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister. Thank You Lord for bringing us to Yourself, presenting us before You as holy, without accusation or blemish.

Prayer:
Remember in prayer those who are affected by joblessness and seeking employment.

Continue to pray about opportunities to reach out in to our communities as those opportunities present themselves.

Pray specifically about the opportunity to work with struggling youth in the Newport area. There are several different things we do from holding a Bible study to facilitating other group activities or a meal.

Pray about other youth / young adult Bible studies and perhaps a Sunday evening service or mid-week service.

The women had a wonderful time at the Women's. Retreat this pasr Friday & Saturday as they were taught about the Lord's prayer.

Prayer:
Dick Torres was diagnosed with cancer, so let's keep him in our prayers during this diffuclt season.

We'll continue to pray for Maurine's health as she battles with the end stages of her illness, that the Lord would bring her His peace and comfort.

Continue to pray for the Gospel for Asia missionaries and the Bridge of Hope children as they share the love of Jesus and His gospel to them.

Keep in prayer opportunities for our fellowship to serve and share the love of Jesus with our community as those opportunities present themselves.

Thank You Lord for the cleansing and washing away of our iniquity and sin.

Continue to pray for Maurine, that the Lord would touch her life and give her comfort through her illness, as she is progressively getting worse.

The outreach packets are almost ready so let's pray for fruit as we plant the seeds of the Gospel.

As we've come to join forces with Gospel for Asia in sponsoring a Jesus well, missionary bicycles and Bridge of Hope children, let's continue to pray for God to bless them and that many people would to repentance faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Also we are being sent information about a Christmas gift opportunity to bless those missionaries.

As opportunities to serve and be used in our community, please pray for God to guide and direct us as a fellowship and us as individuals to the ministry He has for us.

Prayer:
Please pray Niki as she is continuing to work through her eating disorder through an inpatient treatment program. There are now some insurance issues that are leading to financial issues that may impact the coninuing of her care & treatment. She is newly married (about 6 months) and her husband Jon could use some prayer covering as well.

Bradley & Joshua Wolkersdorfer both start college this week. Pray that the Lord would keep them strong in their faith, pure in their witness of Him and diligent in this new page of their lives. (and $$ for their parents)

Continue to pray for those who are seeking employment, that the Lord would supply for their needs and bring about those opportunities and His favor.

Due to several folks being gone this week, GFA missions' presentations and invitation to sponsor a child in a Children of Hope Center, will be postponed until next week.

We need to keep on praying for the work of God in Sandpoint as things progress; the old building is being sold, new has been found etc... Pray for Pastor Ben Ortize and others who are going to be part of what God is doing there. Please also pray for the former pastor, (Jeff) & wife and children that the Lord would do a miracle in their lives and transform their hearts and bring healing and restoration.

Pray for the GFA missionaries as they preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in often hostile environments.

Continue to pray about youth ministry that would be ourtreach orientated.

Praise You Lord for keeping our reward with You so we don't chase earthly rewards and treasure them.

The tile stairs in our church are done! Thank You Lord for that gift!

Please pray for GFA (that is Gospel for Asia) missionaries; who are preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ministering to the people who are accessing the Jesus Wells, and for the children attending the Bridge of Hope schools in Asia.

Continue to pray for new work of God in Sandpoint and for Pastor Ben Ortize and his family as they serve the Lord there.

Please pray for Linda Crutch as she is still trying to pick up the pieces after the tragic death of her husband.

Youth ministry opportunities are still something that we need to be praying about, that Lord would guide and open doors.

Please pray about the different projects around our building that the Lord would give wisdom about what we shoud do.

Still praying for those seeking employment.

Thank You Lord for the real hope of You dwelling with us some day soon.

Let's continue to pray for Cheryl's mother as she recovers from surgery for skin cancer.

Maurine's health has taken some turns for the worse, so let's uphold her in prayer that the Lord would sustain her in His grace.

Let's once again be praying about youth ministry possiblities because it's critcal that young people today hear & respond to Jesus and get rooted in the Truth.

The hand-out packets are almost finished, so let's be praying about those who be will be receiving them that it would bear fruit for the Kingdom of God, and that He would bring about some Divine apointments for us to share the hope we have and invite people to come hear the teaching of God's Word.

Also Pray for the bussiness of {Petroglyph}.

Thank You Lord for our new building we can gather together and worship you as a family.

Praise God for all of His children who He has given a servants heart, and all their hard work in getting our new facility ready for our first Sunday.

Prayer:

Please pray for Niki as she is going into an inpatient treatment program for eating disorders. It is at least a 30-day program. She DOES know the Lord, so please pray that the Lord would break this stronghold in her life.

We need to continue to pray for the work of God in Sandpoint as well as the former pastor of Calvary Chapel Sandpoint and his family.

Let's continue to pray for Maurine. She is desiring to move back to he Newport area, and also pray about her failing health.

Praise You Lord for salvation you offer to through Your power.

We'll be moving into our new building this week, and setting up for services next Sunday. Please pray about all the loose ends that need to be put into place and for a smooth transition.

Let's continue to pray for Calvary Chapel Sandpoint as, "thing are a mess" and Pastor Ben Ortize will be working on a new church plant there.

Let's continue to pray for Gospel For Asia as the Lord uses the money we raised for a "Jesus well." We will be given information as to where that well will be drilled and hopefully be able to get reports from that region. After our move we will view some video clips about the ministry of Gospel For Asia for future involvement.

Thank You Lord for a WONDERFUL and FRUITFUL weekend with the Benefit Parking Lot Sale, and allowing us to share in what You are doing GFA [That is Gospel For Asia] in the drilling of a 'Jesus Well.' Oh and bye the way we did get the thousand dollars we needed to drill a well.

Thank You Lord for the keys to our new location You've provided for us to worship & serve You in.

Prayer:

Please pray about all the things that need to be done for us to start worship services at our new location by August 2.

Please pray for the new Calvary Chapel Sandpoint that will be starting soon. Pray for healing that the people need to experience, as the wounds can be very deep. Also pray for Pastor Ben Ortize that the Lord would give him wisdom in dealing with tarnished witness the former church has been labeled with the obstacles he will face in that new environment.

As Maurine's health continues to deteriorate, please bring her befor the Lord in prayer and let's support her with our prayers during this time in her life.

Pray for Dick Torres that his 'blood pressure' would go down and stay down.

Please pray for our new building proposition that’s been brought before us. This would really give us a great amount of additional space and functionality.

Please cotinue to pray for Craig’s mother as she had a rather nasty fall and injured her hand and knee.

Continue to pray for our Benefit Parking Lot Sale, where the proceeds will go towards sponsoring a Jesus Well with Gospel for Asia.

Let’s keep Calvary Chapel Sandpoint in our prayers as they are seeking the Lord about a new work over there. Keep the former Pastor and his family in prayer as they too are going through the battle of their lives right now on a personal AND spiritual level.

Serena and the Freshman’s are seeking the Lord for wisdom & provision, and that His glory to be displayed in their building project.

Please continue to pray for our new building proposition, that the Lord would be guiding us to His will, and that we would see Him work in the process.

Continue to for the work of God in Sandpoint, for the former Pastor and his family and for those who were a part of fellowship. Keep Pastor Ben Ortize in your prayers also, as he will be re-planting a Calvary Chapel over there.

The Benefit Parking Lot Sale to support a "Jesus Well" with Gospel for Asia, is Next Friday and Saturday. We pray that it would be a fruitful time monertarily as well as for the Kingdom of God & the mission field. We will be getting a shipment of supplies (DVD's, books, posters) this week for that event.

With new opportunities for ministry and growth often comes spiritual warfare. Pray that the Lord would help us recongnize this in our fellowship and resist the attempts of our enemy to disrupt what the Lord is doing in and through His poeple at Calvary Newport.

Pray for the Remolding of, 'House of the Lord.'

Praise:
The Newport Parade went well with many church flyers going out, inviting people to worship with us.

Prayer:
The Calvary Chapel Sandpoint is in GREAT need on our continued prayer support as they dissolve that fellowship and begin in prayer, seeking the Lord and starting a new fellowship with Ben Ortize as Pastor. There is a great deal of healing and restoration that needs to take place, and a fresh work of God to begin over there. Also keep the former pastor and family in your prayers as they are in spiritual battle.

Please continue to pray for Maurine as she deals with the death of her husband Ward and her own physical challenges with cancer.

Pray for our "Parking Lot Sale" next month that it would be a successful venture raising funds for sponsoring a well with Gospel for Asia.

Romans 8:28

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Notes: The best manuscript evidence of the original Greek records this verse this way: "We know that God causes all things to work together for good." Now, we understand that there is evil, not only in the world, but in us. It isn't saying that all things are good. It says that God causes all things to work together for good. This leads us to the profound element of God's supreme authority and power over all the issues of life to produce out of them His own good purposes. God takes all contingencies of life, all the choices, all the good, bad, and indifferent things, and weaves them together for ultimately a good purpose. That is the promise that God is giving to those who have been called to salvation. Every suffering, temptation, trial, even every sin, God works together into tapestry that ultimately is for your good. You might not see it at the time. It's like looking at the back of a Persian rug. It's just a bunch of threads going into chaotic directions. But when you turn it over some day in eternity, you'll see how it all worked together for good.

MacArthur study Notes: good. In His providence, God orchestrates every event in life—even suffering, temptation, and sin—to accomplish both our temporal and eternal benefit (cf. Deuteronomy8:15-16 NASB). Called. As always, in the NT epistles, this call is God's effectual calling of His elect that brings them to salvation.

Esv study Bible Notes: God weaves everything together for good for his children. The “good” in this context does not refer to earthly comfort but conformity to Christ (v. 29), closer fellowship with God, bearing good fruit for the kingdom, and final glorification (v. 30).

Psalm 1:1-2

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.

Notes: This is a promise for spiritual well-being—for deep-seated heart-blessing contentment, peace, and joy that's below the surface of circumstances. If you want to be blessed like that, the psalmist says, don't walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Don't listen to their spin, the solution, their assessment, their evaluation. Don't even walk with them, and don't stop and stand in the path of sinners. Don't even engage yourself with them casually, and don't let that conversation become deeper and more penetrating. And don't sit in the seat of the scornful. Don't take your seat in their classroom while they scoff at divine truth.

Macarthur study Notes: blessed. From the perspective of the individual, this is a deep seated joy and contentment in God; from the perspective of the believing community, it refers to redemptive favor (cf. the blessings and cursing of Deuteronomy 27:11-28:6 NASB). not walk ... Nor stand ... Nor sit. The "beatitude" man (cf. Matthew 5:3-11 NASB) is first described as one who avoids such associations as these which exemplify sin's sequential downward drag. his delight ... in the law. Switching to a positive description, the spiritually "happy" man is characterized by the consistent contemplation and internalization of God's Word for the ethical direction and obedience.

Spurgeon's Notes: 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
“Blessed” - see how this Book of Psalms opens with a benediction, even as did the famous Sermon of our Lord upon the Mount! The word translated “blessed” is a very expressive one. The original word is plural, and it is a controverted matter whether it is an adjective or a substantive. Hence we may learn the multiplicity of the blessings which shall rest upon the man whom God hath justified, and the perfection and greatness of the blessedness he shall enjoy. We might read it, “Oh, the blessedness!” and we may well regard it (as Ainsworth does)as a joyful acclamation of the gracious man's felicity. May the like benediction rest on us!
Here the gracious man is described both negatively (Ps1:1 KJV) and positively (Ps1:2 KJV); He is a man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. He takes wiser counsel, and walks in the commandments of the Lord his God. To him the ways of piety are paths of peace and pleasantness. His footsteps are ordered by the Word of God, and not by the cunning and wicked devices of carnal men. It is a rich sign of inward grace when the outward walk is changed, and when ungodliness is put far from our actions. Note next, he standeth not in the way of sinners. His company is of a choicer sort than it was. Although a sinner himself, he is now a blood-washed sinner, quickened by the Holy Spirit, and renewed in heart. Standing by the rich grace of God in the congregation of the righteous, he dares not herd with the multitude that do evil. Again it is said, “nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” He finds no rest in the atheist's scoffings. Let others make a mock of sin, of eternity, of hell and heaven, and of the Eternal God; this man has learned better philosophy than that of the infidel, and has too much sense of God's presence to endure to hear his name blasphemed, The seat of the scorner may be very lofty, but it is very near to the gate of hell; let us flee from it, for it shall soon be empty, and destruction shall swallow up the man who sits therein. Mark the gradation in the first verse:

He walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor standeth in the way of sinners.
Nor sitteth in the seat of scornful.
When men are living in sin they go from bad to worse. At first they merely walk in the counsel of the careless and ungodly, who forget God - the evil is rather practical than habitual - but after that, they become habituated to evil, and they stand in the way of open sinners who wilfully violate God's commandments; and if let alone, they go one step further, and become themselves pestilent teachers and tempters of others, and thus they sit in the seat of the scornful. They have taken their degree in vice, and as true Doctors of Damnation they are installed, and are looked up to by others as Masters in Belial. But the blessed man, the man to whom all the blessings of God belong, can hold no communion with such characters as these. He keeps himself pure from these lepers; he puts away evil things from him as garments spotted by the flesh; he comes out from among the wicked, and goes without the camp, bearing the reproach of Christ. O for grace to be thus separate from sinners.
And now mark his positive character. “His delight is in the law of the Lord.” He is not under the law as a curse and condemnation, but he is in it, and he delights to be in it as his rule of life; he delights, moreover, to meditate in it, to read it by day, and think upon it by night. He takes a text and carries it with him all day long; and in the night-watches, when sleep forsakes his eyelids, he museth upon the Word of God. In the day of his prosperity he sings psalms out of the Word of God, and in the night of his affliction he comforts himself with promises out of the same book. “The law of the Lord” is the daily bread of the true believer. And yet, in David's day, how small was the volume of inspiration, for they had scarcely anything save the first five books of Moses! How much more, then, should we prize the whole written Word which it is our privilege to have in all our houses! But, alas, what ill-treatment is given to this angel from heaven! We are not all Berean searchers of the Scriptures. How few among us can lay claim to the benediction of the text! Perhaps some of you can claim a sort of negative purity, because you do not walk in the way of the ungodly; but let me ask you - Is your delight in the law of God? Do you study God's Word? Do you make it the man of your right hand - your best companion and hourly guide? If not, this blessing belongeth not to you.

Esv study Bible Notes: Contrasting Sources of Values. The truly happy person guides his life by God's instruction rather than by the advice of those who reject that instruction. Blessed. The truly happy person is happy because God showers him with favor. Jesus uses the Greek equivalent in Matt. 5:3–11 ESV; cf. also James 1:12 ESV. The Latin translation, beatus, is the source of the word beatitude. the man. A specific, godly individual (Hb. ha’ish, “the man”) is held up as an example for others to imitate. Such teaching by use of a concrete example is common in OT wisdom literature. wicked . . . sinners . . . scoffers. These are people, even within Israel, who refuse to live by the covenant; the godly person refuses to follow the moral orientation of such people's lifestyle. Some have seen an increasing level of sinfulness in the terms “wicked-sinners-scoffers,” together with an increasing loyalty in the metaphors “walk-stand-sit”; however, it is likely that the terms “wicked” and “sinner” here are equivalent, while a “scoffer” is certainly more committed to evil (see note on Prov. 19:25–20:1 ESV). the law of the Lord. As the esv footnote indicates, this could be taken as God's instruction (Hb. Torah, which often designates the Law of Moses), particularly as he speaks in his covenant. For this reason no one should ever think that such a person receives his blessedness by deserving it, since the covenant is founded on God's grace. Meditates describes an active pondering, perhaps even muttering to oneself in pursuit of insight. Some suppose day and night speaks of the work of professional scholars who spend all their time pondering the words of the law, but in view of the similar instruction in Josh. 1:8 ESV, readers should see this as setting the ideal of facing every situation, be it ever so mundane, with a view to pleasing the Lord by knowing and following his Word.

Hebrews 4:12

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Notes: Many People think of the Bible as a comforting book, but the Scripture claims to be a sword—alive, powerful, sharp. It cuts and penetrates way down into the depth of soul and spirit. It becomes a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Nothing cuts and penetrates like the truth of God. You could take all the psychology and philosophy in the world, and it cannot dismantle a man at the level of his soul as the Word of God can. And the reason is because nobody knows a man like God knows a man. The heart of every one of us is exposed to God, and the bible reveals that penetrating insight into our souls. Yes the Bible knows how to build us up, but it also knows how to convict and unmask our hypocrisy, how to cut into our pride and self-will, how to uncover our secret sins. But wherever God cuts, He heals, and whatever He reveals, He cleanses. And it's that kind of cleansing that makes me able to bear more fruit to my own joy and to the glory of God.

Macarthur study Notes: two-edged sword. While the Word of God is comforting and nourishing to those who believe, it is a tool of judgment and execution for those who have not committed themselves to Jesus Christ. Some of the Hebrews were merely going through the motions of belonging to Christ. Intellectually, they were at least partly persuaded but inside they were not committed to Him. God's Word would expose their shallow beliefs and even their false intentions (cf. 1 Samuel 16:7 NASB; 1 Peter 4:5 NASB). division of soul and spirit. These terms do not describe two separate entities (any more than "thoughts and intentions" do) but are used as one might say "heart and soul" to express fullness (cf. Luke 10:27 NASB; Acts 4:32 NASB). Elsewhere these two terms are used interchangeably to describe man's immaterial self, his eternal inner person.

Esv study Bible Notes: The warning continues: faithless disobedience will not go unnoticed. word of God. Usually this phrase in Hebrews refers to the message of salvation (13:7; cf. 4:2), but here the “word” is pictured as God's personal utterance, living, active, sharp, piercing, and discerning v. 12), with eyes that expose (v. 13). The Word of God then acts as God himself, so that one's innermost thoughts and intentions are exoposed This happens constantly in Christians' lives.

A MORING PRAYER

Father thank You for awakening me to this new morning! Please help me to begin this day with rejoicing, and with praise to You on my heart and lips for keeping me through another night.
I also praise You for the promise of Your Word in Lamentations 3:22-23 that your lovingkindness never cease, and Your compassions never fail, but are new every morning.

Michelle's brother's baby (and the mother) are home from the hospital and doing well.

Thank You Lord for Your provision for this (Your) church even though financially, the world is in chaos.

Prayer:
Pray for employment opportunities for Roy (Cheryl's father), Dennis and Paul; that the Lord would provide in this area soon.

Continue to pray about mission opportunities that have presented themselves to us, that the Lord, would guide us.

Here are some verses Paul talked on the Law.
Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. (KJV)
Here is the word for righteousness in the Bible dictionary to have a right standing with God, but why do we need righteousness.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (KJV)
So you see the only way we can fulfill God's is through righteousness. That's why Christ came to fulfill the moral Law so that we can have right standing with God, through Christ's blood.
Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (KJV)
Did you just hear what Paul said we uphold the Law, through salvation Christ does not mean that the Law was no value. In fact justification by faith upholds the Law according to its right purpose and function. Through reconciliation with God and the regnerating work of the Holy Spirit, the believer becomes capable of honoring and obeying God's moral Law. (see Romans 8:2-4)
Listen to what Charles H. Spurgeon has to say about saving the lost. "My main bussiness is saving of souls. This one thing I do."

Please pray that there would be a break-through with Cheryl's brother (Devin) and the Lord, that Jesus would be recieved and rescue and transform him.

Well the wolf trails are still covered with snow even though it is spring. I saw two people today. They were both girls both grown-up, I wonder if they have repented and put their trust in Jesus I hope they have if not I will pray for them. That they get an understanding of their sin, and repent put their trust in Jesus.I will pray and hope that someone witnesses to them I wish I had a tract to give them they were in a hurry so I could of at least gave them a tract the worse they could of said was "No I don't want it."

Well it is 7:30 in the morning out here at the Wolf Trails, I would say two more weeks and the snow will be gone then I can go on the trails and I hope witness to someone. The sun is rising the birds are chirping, I like to listen to the birds sing and give Praise to God. It reminds me of Psalm 19:1, " The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork."

Just a few minutes later a lady came here at the Wolf Trails. It was an older lady, I will pray for her too. She is smoking a cigarete. Bad habbit to get into. It seems she is checking her truck, I wonder for what reason. I hope nothing bad happens to her. After a few minutes, she got in her truck, and started heading back for town. Then another lady not even five minutes have passed by comes up with two dogs, one Brownish White, and one just White. I will pray for her as well. Well I better head back to town. The Sun sure feels nice. I Praise You Lord Jesus for this morning it is a very beatiful day today.

Mr. Dentist & the Problem of Pain

My dentist is an oral "hygienist" yet he has a foul mouth. He cusses horribly. He stepped backwards when I once tried to speak to him about his relationship with God. So I told him that I allowed him to drill decay, because if he didn't I could lose my teeth. God wants to drill the decay of sin out of our lives, even though it's painful. Open wide and let's examine your soul: Have you ever lied or stolen, used God's name in vain, or looked with lust? Then you are a lying thief, a blasphemer, and an adulterer at heart. Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." On Judgment Day, you will end up in Hell. "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus took the punishment for your sins and rose from the dead, defeating death. Save Yourself Some Pain
Becoming a Christian is the most incredible event that will ever take place in your life. You have found peace with your Creator. You have found everlasting life! Be assured--God will never leave you nor forsake you. He has brought you this far and He will complete the wonderful work He has begun in you. God knows your every thought, your every care and your deepest concerns.

Let's now look at some of those possible concerns. First, and of primary concern -- do you have "assurance" of your salvation? The Bible says to "make your calling and election sure" (2 Peter 1:10, italics added), so, let's go through a short "checklist" to make sure that you are truly saved:

Are you aware that God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:14, KJV), and that he
Did you come to the Savior because you had sinned?
Did you "repent" and put your faith in Jesus?
Are you convinced that He suffered and died on the Cross and that He rose again on the third day?
God acquits us from the Courtroom of Eternal Justice on the grounds that Jesus Christ paid our fine. We are "justified" (made right with God) by His suffering death. The resurrection of Jesus Christ was God's seal of approval of the fact that His precious blood was sufficient to pay the fine.

Think of it this way... You have violated the law and face a $50,000 fine. You tell the judge that you are truly sorry for your crime, but he answers, "So you should be -- you have broken the law! Now, can you pay this fine?" He can only acquit you if the fine is paid. If someone else pays your fine, then he can let you go, but he must have "grounds" on which to release you.

The reason we need a substitute (a savior) to pay our moral "fine," is because we have broken God's Law. To see how much we have transgressed this Law (the Ten Commandments), we will go through some of them -- Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen something? Have you ever lusted after another person? If you answered "Yes" to these questions, you admit that you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart, and you have to face God on Judgment Day! If you have used His name in vain, then you are guilty of "blasphemy" -- you've substituted God's holy Name for a curse word. Perhaps you've hated someone, then the Bible says that you are a murderer. You have violated God's holy Law, and you're in BIG trouble. On Judgment Day, you will be found guilty and end up in Hell. That's why you need the Savior. Merely being sorry for your sins, or confessing them to God won't help you. You must turn from sin (repent), and your faith must be in Jesus Christ alone. He is the only "grounds" for God to grant mercy towards you. If you're not sure of your salvation, make Psalm 51 your own prayer.

Let's now look at some more important principles that can save you a great deal of pain...



Troubleshoot
If you know the Lord, nothing will shake your faith. It is true that the man with an experience is not at the mercy of a man with an argument. Take for example a little boy who is looking at a heater. His father warns him that it's hot.
Tithing
It was once said that the wallet is the "last frontier"-- that it’s the last thing that comes to God in surrender. But it should be the first, along with our surrendered heart.

Water Baptism
The Bible Says , "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. . ." (Acts 2:38). There is therefore no question as to whether or not you should be baptized. The questions are how, when, and by whom?
Giving Thanks
For the Christian, every day should be Thanksgiving Day. We should even be thankful in the midst of problems.

Fellowship
Pray about where you should fellowship. Make sure the place you are going to call your church home calls sin what it is -- sin. Do they believe the promises of God? Are they loving? Does the pastor treat his wife with respect? Is he a man of the Word? Does he have a humble heart, and a gentle spirit?
Spiritual Warfare
When you became a Christian, you stepped right into the heat of an age-old battle. You have a three-fold enemy--the world, the flesh, and the devil.

Prayer
It has been well said that God always answers prayer. Sometimes He says, "Yes." sometimes He says, "NO." Sometimes He says, "Wait for a minute," and a day to the Lord is a thousand years to us (2 Peter 3:8). That means that a ten year wait for us, is 14 minutes and 24 seconds to God, so ask in faith, but rest in peace-filled patience.
Evangelism
It was late in December, 1996. A large family gathered in Los Angeles for the joyous occasion of wrapping Christmas presents. It was a big family because it was the product of two marriages.

Faith
When a young man once looked at me and said, "I find it hard to believe some of the things in the Bible," I smiled and asked, "What's your name?" When he said, "Paul," I casually answered, "I don't believe you." He looked at me questioningly.
Daily Bible Reading
A healthy baby has a healthy appetite. If you have truly been "born" of the Spirit of God, you will have a healthy appetite. The Bible says, "As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby," (1 Peter 2:2). Feed yourself every day without fail.

101 Last Days Prophecies

False Bible teachers would bring in heresies, have many followers, and cause others to reject God's Word (2 Peter 2:1-2). It is very common today to find people who reject the Bible out of hand because they have heard it misrepresented by a false teacher.

Many terrorist organizations have their bases in Damascus. God declares that they will become a ruinous heap because they have violently taken what was not theirs. Chaotic weather would be prevalent (Luke 21:25-26). Jesus foresaw the seas and the waves roaring in the last days. He also likened these signs to birth pangs (Matthew 24:8). The Greek word odin, often translated as sorrows in Matthew 24:8, literally means birth pangs. Furthermore, the apostle Paul reminded us that the creation itself will be delivered from the curse at the end of the age (Romans 8:21). And that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs (Romans 8:22). As delivery draws near, birth pangs always increase in both intensity and frequency. Therefore, the creation itself would travail as the time of delivery draws near. Of course chaotic weather is not new, but there are indications that we are witnessing an increase in strange weather.

There are many more last days prophecies (several too detailed for this brief list). However these 101 demonstrate that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is true that some of these signs have been around for millennia, but only our generation has witnessed the coming together of every one of these events. Contrast the Bible's 100% track record with other self-proclaimed prophetic sources and there is no comparison. The false prophets typically repackage and plagiarize the Bible's prophecies for the unsuspecting masses, or they make so many vague prophecies that one is bound to be fulfilled. Nostradamus did both.

Jesus also said that some men would be gripped with fear when these signs occur (Luke 21:26), while others would look up with hopeful expectation (Luke 21:28). Which camp do you fall into? If you're fearful, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is that God will judge every man who breaks even one of His laws. Have you ever blasphemed your Creator's name, Lied (white lies and fibs count)? Stolen (cheating on a test or taxes is stealing)? Looked with lust? If you have answered yes to these questions, then by your own admission, you are a blaspheming, lying, thieving, adulterer at heart. And we have only looked at four of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20). That's how God sees you. Keep in mind, God sees every secret sin of your past as if it just occurred. Nothing is hidden from His holy eyes. Also remember that Jesus rebuked the pious religious leaders of His day because, though they appeared good on the outside, inside they were prideful hypocrites. They were trusting in their own goodness, but the Lord saw their hearts. No matter how upright we may appear on the surface, all of us have broken God's holy commandments and need the Savior. Please listen to your conscience. You know you are guilty, and should justly end up in hell. That's not God's will. In fact, God is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). The good news is that God has made a way to freely forgive us so that we may spend eternity with Him in heaven. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). God desires a loving, eternal relationship with each person free from sin, fear, and pain. Therefore, He sent His Son to die as our substitute on the cross. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Jesus never sinned. Therefore, He alone qualified to pay the penalty for our sins on the cross. We sinned, but Jesus died in our place. He then rose from the dead defeating death. All who turn from their sins and call on His name will be saved.

If these signs alarm you, thank God, because the Lord wants to awaken you from your spiritual slumber and give you eternal life. To repent of your sins and place your trust in Jesus Christ, make Psalm 51 your prayer. Then read your Bible daily, obeying what you read. God will never let you down.
